HOLY CRAP! This place has changed so much! Actual bold and italic buttons in journals! No having to remember codes! OMGOMGOMG HOW AWESOME IS THAT!
Yeeeeeaaahhhh it's been a long time since I've been on here. Hows everyone going? Uuhhhh good I hope? I know I've said a billion times before, but I am so so sorry for all the inactivity from me. I have been super super lazy when it comes to my internet profiles. And I'll be honest, I kinda lost interest in this place. Don't know why but I just did *shrugs* Part of the reason is maybe cos I'm more active on Furaffinity, but I do miss people from this place, So after the New Year I plan to go through my inbox, nuke pretty much everything (yes again), note people and ask how they are, and start up from scratch. And next year I will TRY (Note the word try: no promises that I will be) to be more active on here and post more regularly. I seriously mean it this time.
So anyway, now that's out of the way, another crazy year gone, another to start soon. Yeap, 2015 was a pretty crazy year and it was pretty full on year for me, but overall it was a good one. It definitely wasn't as crazy as the end of last year, with me requiring surgery and my Dad's near death experience (I don't think anything could match that). This year has gone by so fast, I can't believe it's nearly over.
So with 2016 nearly upon us, I thought that I'd take a moment to reflect and review my 2015...well, what I remember of it anyway. This time last year I was in the United States enjoying a holiday with my family.
However the crazy incidents didn't seem to stop, with two of our dogs nearly dying from a snake bite. Both thankfully managed to survive and both seem relatively normal. We'll just be more careful over this summer.
When we got back I joined my brother's backing band as a bassist and thus joined my first band. We've had a few issues, namely personnel walking out on us leaving us with my bro singing/guitar, my dad volunteering on drums and me on bass. Hasn't been ideal but we've worked through it. Overall I've enjoyed my time in the band and I regret not joining a band sooner. Sure the music isn't quite to my taste (Softer rock/pop rock) but I've found that I love playing on stage in front of people. I got the bug bad when it comes to playing live, it's all I can think of. Hopefully next year will be better in terms of gigs and band members.
Also this year I finally decided to fulfil a New Years resolution and do more exercise. After realising I hate jogging and walking by myself. I signed up with a local pool in March and since then I've swam laps 2-3 times a week. After a few laps of it I realised that it was an exercise I could do, enjoy and not want to stab myself out of boredom. I love the water and I feel at home in it. After a slow start or barely doing 500 metres of the 25 metre pool I can now easily swim a kilometre in about 25 minutes ^__^ Next year I will definitely keep it up and keep pushing myself to swim a mile.
Uni has been going well, been pretty full on as I delve into harder subjects that require a lot of homework. I had a set back with a fail in a statistics class that I was doing off campus, though I repeated it on campus the next term and passed with flying colours. I also stepped up my game in terms of the amount of study I do, how I study and also making sure I don't leave assignments to the last minute. It's been a bit of an an adjustment but it's something I feel I have definitely improved on and it's something I can keep working on. Though I did have a set back when I realised that I wouldn't be able to graduate in 2016 like I had hoped, so back to the course plan of finishing in 2017.
Work has been work. This year marked 6 years since I started working at McDonald's, and I've realised that I really can't stand working there any more, especially with the minimal hours I sometimes receive causing me to penny pinch at times and having to slow down my saving for a house deposit (thankfully I started receiving student payments which have helped). So after a long long time of talking about a new job and getting out of there (I'm talking years) I've updated my resume and started the job search. My only condition is no more fast food, it's being picky but I want experience outside the fast food business. Already I've seen that the current job market is limited and there's not much on offer, but I just have to keep searching and applying.
In terms of spare time and other stuff, not much has really been happening. Mostly been the usual: laptop, furry porn, movies, TV shows and being a lazy bum. I took myself off for a trip to Broken Hill in New South Wales to see a friend, which was pretty cool. Though 10 hours driving in a little Suzuki Swift wasn't exactly fun, but then the car wasn't built for that sort of trip. But for me to plan a trip like that in a couple of weeks and go was something I've never done before so an achievement there.
Writing I've been slower than I wanted to be. The usual dose of procrastination and laziness I guess. Maybe that can be my resolution for next year, so set a schedule and start writing more often. Despite this though I managed to get the first chapter of my long planned Red Rose story up and running, and I've got a couple of chapters in the bank. I plan to release chapter 2 once I've written chapter 4.
Finally, the last two things for 2015 that to me stands out: Firstly I've applied for reality TV show. Don't know if I'll get on and I most likely won't, but hey, you live once and you never know if you don't give it a shot. And finally after years of wanting to but haven't due to money or being away, I'm finally going to my first fur con. Yeap, Confurgence here I come.
So that was my 2015. Here's to what was another crazy but good year, and I hope 2016 goes even crazier and even better. Once again I am so so sorry for my lack of activity and for my laziness. I hope you can all forgive me *puppy dog eyes* I do honestly hope that everyone on here has been doing well and have had a good year
To everyone, have a very Happy New Year. Stay safe, drink and party responsibly and I hope everyone has an awesome 2016!
